EMPEROR LAZAR
Emperor Lazar Hrebeljanović was a Serbian king and duke, known for his courage and leadership during the Battle of Kosovo Field on June 28, 1389. He was born into the Hrebeljanović family and became a key figure in the fight against the Ottoman Empire.
Lazar ruled as king of Serbia and was known for his attempt to unite the Serbian lands against a common enemy. His fight in Kosovo, although ended in death, became a symbol of Serbian resistance and national identity.
After his death, he became a martyr and saint in the Orthodox tradition, and his feast day is celebrated on June 28. Emperor Lazar is celebrated as a symbol of honor, courage and sacrifice for freedom, and his name and deeds are deeply etched in Serbian culture and history.
